Quebec's Self Employed Program
Applicants must have at least three years' experience, with one year in the management of a licit and profitable agricultural, commercial or industrial business, and at least two years in the "economic activity" that the applicant intends to pursue in Quebec.
The number of selection points awarded for experience will depend on the number of years of management experience, and the number of years of work experience in the economic activity to be followed in Quebec.
The self-employed applicant is required to obtain a minimum of 4 selection points for work experience and a minimum of 2 selection points for management experience or the application will be refused.
The Quebec immigration officer will access the ability of the applicant to successfully complete the business project.
Between 0 and 25 selection points may be scored based on the applicant's understanding of:
- the Quebec market;
- exploration of the market;
- financial resources; and
- feasibility and relevance of the project having regard to the needs of Quebec.
An applicant must obtain a minimum of 15 selection points or the application will be refused.
Self-employed applicants require a total minimum of 50 selection points to obtain a Quebec Certificate of Selection.
The self-employed applicant must obtain a minimum of:
