Did you see your 2 million $?
According to a survey of Sondagem carried out in 1999, 48,5% of Québécois believe that higher education is not really profitable (because, perhaps, of the expenditure which are dependent there and the years of studies generally passed far from the labour market).
If you are this number, do you undeceive...? Did the Ministry for Education publish the study education? Yes it is paying according to which the higher studies are profitable, figures with the support. Indeed, the analysis shows that the more one person is provided education for, plus its incomes of employment are high. It is precisely obtaining the baccalaureat which makes increase more the calculated incomes.
One evaluates to 2,2 million dollars the total of the incomes calculated for a graduate of the baccalaureat, during all his life (15 to 64 years). For a diploma of collegial studies (DEC), one evaluates on average the total of the incomes with 1,5 million dollars and, for a diploma of secondary studies (OF), with 1,3 million dollars. The variation of incomes is thus considerable between the graduates of the various levels of schooling, favouring of almost a million dollars the holders of a Vat!
By considering the expenditure related to obtaining a diploma of studies postsecondaires and the additional incomes which result from this, the direction of the statistics and the quantitative studies also calculated the "private yield" associated obtaining a baccalaureat.
It corresponds in fact to the real interest rate obtained on an initial investment are equivalent to the expenditure incurred for obtaining a baccalaureat. The private yield obtained is 9,5%, which thus proves to be "very profitable" according to the Ministry for education.
Obviously, the results of the study correspond to an average of all the programs, and there would undoubtedly be alternatives if one compared the various training schemes.
